WUF Basel 2025 Celebrating Paper
WUF Basel 2025 transformed the 30th floor of Bar Rouge into a curated sanctuary dedicated to the printed page. A two-day event focused on cultural publishing, artistic dialogue, and tactile storytelling, it redefined the role of paper in the digital age.
The experience gathered editors, artists, and thinkers around books as physical memor, reframing the book not just as a vessel of content, but as a medium of expression.

On June 17 and 18, 2025, WUF (We Understand the Future) returned to Basel with Celebrating Paper, a new editorial-led format curated to explore the cultural force of print in contemporary creative discourse.Hosted at the iconic Bar Rouge, the event served as a gathering point for WUF Members only, spotlighting publishing as an artistic act. Through installations, printed matter, and live dialogue, Celebrating Paper became an invitation to rethink the materiality of knowledge and the future of cultural memory

WUF Basel 2025 presented a curated constellation of voices and editorial practices across art, architecture, photography, and media.
At the heart of Celebrating Paper, Jesse Draxler’s site-specific installation U&Air Basel suspended books in mid-air, turning the Lounge into a floating archive and inviting reflection on the book as both medium and memory. In parallel, Enrico Rassu’s Don’t Call Me Fotografo expanded the exhibition into a critical investigation of photography and identity, reinforcing the role of printed matter as a space for authorship and experimentation.
Alongside these installations, WUF presented a curated selection of publications that included Fragments by Andrea Bonaceto, Urban Singularity by Fabio Giampietro, prompt by Paul Sears, Digital Maieutics by Skygolpe, No News Good News and La Lettura Cento by Gianluigi Colin (with Antonio Troiano), as well as standout titles by FMR Edizioni, Fakewhale, and the WUF Curatorial Team. Together, these works created a constellation of voices that elevated publishing to the level of artistic and spatial discourse
